This is the first "ResultsOfMonopoly" poster. This further explains some of my thoughts behind why I chose the name ResultsOfMonopoly on deviantArt. The inspiration for this work: A discount computer outlet from China has recently bought the IBM desktop line. Now, when you buy an IBM desktop computer in the U.S., you are actually buying a computer from the company centered in China (the blue bars mimic the recent IBM ad campaign). More posters along this theme may continue in addition to my other artwork.
Do you like it enough to buy a poster?
Actually, this was a rather smart move on the part of Lenovo. They were already a huge company in China, and wanted to expand outside thier own country. The sale of IBM's thinkpad line was not just the name, but everything, including all resources in IBM's PC division. IBM sold it, primarily b/c the desktop business isn't in thier overall strategy; they intend to move everything off the desktop and into the datacenter. Personally, I'd rather see a company like Lenovo buy it, than another big company like Dell, Gateway, or (as much as I like them) HP. In a world where every company in every industry is moving towards being owned by one big company, it's good to see some more competition breaking out. Just my thoughts.
btw yes, I'm sure they're probably better than IBM at desktops. Who isn't? IBM is better at other things. IBM made the cell processor for PS3 and possibly for future computers. The cell processor has broadband networking features on the processor (ergo, it r0x0rs).
To be fair,

...They're the only ones I haven't seen go bad early (I've seen a FEW major brands go bad early, but mostly from people hitting them too hard). I've seen a Compaq go bad early, but I think that it was made before HP bought Compaq (the laptop was about 4 years old, built in about 1998, and died more than a year before my [url=[link] laptop (which was working perfectly when I sold it about a year ago, and the customer has had no complaints even though I left my phone number and business card and everything).
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
